Enfolded double-wall felt "vessel" with Sachiko Kotaka (NSW/Japan)

  • Saturday, 3rd June 2017 at 9:30am - 4pm
  • Sunday, 4th June 2017 at 9:30am - 4pm

Location: Hartwell Church of Christ Hall, 248 Highfield Rd, Hartwell

This event is in the past.

Participants will learn how to make a seamless double wall felt vessel.  Each participant will experiment with shape as well as doing open work on the outer vessel wall.

Some students may choose to create headwear, a bag or garments instead as part of this workshop.  The technique can also be used for bootmaking (but not as part of this workshop).

This workshop is ideal for an intermediate/advanced level feltmaker.

Sachiko was the assistant to Polly Stirling when she was experimenting with and named the 'Nuno' style of felting.  She has also developed a number of other techniques, eg calamari, orikiri and weft felt.
