The Victorian Feltmakers Inc is a voluntary
organisation with over 200 members. These are feltmakers ranging from
beginners to experienced. We meet to share the latest feltmaking
techniques, keep up to date with happenings in the world of felt and
wool fibre, and share and support the development of the feltmaking
community.
The organisation provides a network of mutual support and encouragement
for feltmakers through the exchange of ideas and information, meetings
and publications.
Membership is available to feltmakers of all
standards. Joining the Victorian Feltmakers Inc. provides you
with:
-
A

reports, samples and profiles. For those without Internet access, Feltlines
is also available in printed form.

The
opportunity to exhibit your work as well as a mentoring program, with
an emphasis on development of your art skills and proficiency in the
craft of feltmaking. In August 2011, VFI members' work was showcased in
"Felternative" at the
Hawthorn Town Hall Gallery. If you are a member, you can see Feltlines #79
for full coverage. A movie of the exhibition will be shown at the
April meeting, to give you a nice reminder of how good it was.
-
"Felternative"
2012
will take place at Chapel off
Chapel Gallery. We will be calling for entries, so
get working now!
A
number of members are available for tutoring, professional advice and
commissions. Most activities occur in Melbourne, though we do encourage
the development of regional groups.
